Ingreda does not quote prices. Every signal records what an identifiable source reported, with the link so you can check it. The price of an ingredient comes from a supplier answering your request.
An agent continuously reviews what is happening in the world that can move an ingredient's price, availability or lead time. Every finding arrives with its source. Anything without a checkable one is not published.
What it watches
Production interrupted
Plants down, force majeure, export restrictions, harvests lost to drought, flood, fire or disease. Where it happened, which material it touches, and who reported it.
Reported price moves
Which prices moved according to an identifiable source — not according to our estimate. Ingreda does not publish prices: it publishes who said what, with the link.
Freight and delays
Container rates by lane, port congestion, canal restrictions, strikes, equipment shortages and dangerous-goods capacity.
Regulatory change
Approvals, withdrawals, limit changes, labelling, tariffs and import bans — FDA, EFSA, ECHA/REACH, Codex, ANVISA and national authorities.
Substitution and demand
Which ingredient is replacing which in commercial formulations, and why: cost, regulation, allergens, sustainability, or simply not being available.
Acquisitions and capacity
Mergers, acquisitions, insolvencies, plant closures and new capacity among producers, distributors and logistics operators.
How a signal gets built
What separates this from a newsletter is not how much it reads. It is what it refuses to say, and what it shows you to back up what it does say.

We start where the origin is a fact
Regulators, official registers and companies announcing their own news. Not merely because they are free: they are the only sources where the origin of a story is knowable, because the document has a number. With the press it has to be guessed.

Five sites repeating one story is one story
A wire report carried by five outlets is not five confirmations. We trace where each observation came from: two sources that looked independently raise confidence, five that copied the same one raise it not at all.

We look for what disagrees, and show it
When sources conflict, both are kept and the conflict is reported. "The market does not agree with itself" is information, and quietly settling it in favour of whichever arrived last destroys it.

Now, 30–90 days and structural, kept apart
A plant fire today and a new plant in eighteen months point opposite ways. Averaging them gives "roughly stable", which is true of no moment in time. They stay separate.

"We do not know" is an answer
Where the evidence is not enough, we say so instead of manufacturing a direction. A dashboard that always has an answer is one whose answers mean nothing.

Everything opens and checks out
Every signal carries its source as a link, how many independent origins support it, and what contradicts it. Nothing here depends on you taking our word for it.
The two rules that make it worth reading
No source, not published
A language model always answers, whether or not it read anything. So every finding must arrive with a link you can open. Anything that does not is discarded — not published with a caveat, discarded.
Ingreda does not quote prices here
We record that a source reported a move and give you the link to check it. The price of an ingredient on Ingreda comes from a supplier answering your request, and there is no other path to it.
